Jill and Jared Moyer Family 2026

Happy Valentine’s Day from the Moyers!

2026 was a big year of change for the Moyer family! Time just continues to fly by.

Jacob had his “blackout year” for his mission where he spent the entire year in Vietnam. After spending fourteen months in Ho Chi Minh City in the South, he was moved up North to Hanoi at the end of December. Jacob has mastered the language and we love hearing him talk to the native missionaries when we are on our weekly phone call with him. He does a lot of translating for the Senior Couple who are serving with him in his area. He loves the people of Vietnam and has seen a lot of miracles. He will be home in July of 2026 and has plans to head to BYU to start school in August.

Titan graduated from Legend High School, home of the Titans, in May of 2025. He received his mission call to serve in the Singapore Mission, assigned to speak Malay. He started his mission in July and upon arrival to Kuala Lumpur in Western Malaysia where the mission home is, he received his first assignment to Sandakan, Malaysia. It was the most Eastern part of Eastern Malaysia. He served there for four months before being assigned to Singapore where he is currently serving. He has spoken some Malay, a little bit of Mandarin and has learned some Burmese as he has met people from all over the world. He loves the people he has met and loves all of the food he has been able to try.

Beckett finished Middle School and started High School. He was so excited to not have to wear a uniform every day to school. After Jacob and Titan both attended and graduated from Legend, Beckett decided to go to Legend’s rival High School, Chaparral. He is playing lacrosse and has been getting to know the players and coaches since the summer while playing club lacrosse with the high school boys. Lacrosse’s official season is Spring and it will be starting March 2026. Beckett is loving his High School experience so far. He is into War Hammer, painting minifigures and printing things on the 3-D printer. He got his permit in October and Jared is doing a great job of taking him driving. (It still makes Jill very nervous when he gets behind the wheel!)

Caleb is a seventh grader at American Academy. Currently he is obsessed with motorcycles and is constantly telling us that he will be driving one as soon as he is 16. He already has three or four models picked out that he wants to buy some day. He played soccer in the fall with the school team, did some rec basketball and is looking forward to volleyball in the spring. He says that volleyball is his favorite. He loves reading good books and is currently working his way through the Divergent Series.

McKade continues to be our child who is most happy when he is around friends and can talk to people. He is in fifth grade, his final year of Elementary School, and he loves his Math class. He enjoys playing soccer and did school soccer along with his club team, did some rec basketball, and is wrapping up a futsal season before heading into spring soccer. He loves building Legos, riding his scooter, and listening to books on audio. We are still learning to navigate his allergies with his EOE and Celiac and now have to avoid eggs and soy along with the gluten. It’s a continual learning process, but we have adjusted and made lots of yummy food that everyone in the house (mostly) enjoys.

Bowen is thriving in fifth grade and continues to soak up all things history. His love for WWI and WWII runs deep and he is continually seeking out books to learn more. He loves his Math class and it’s always fun to watch him make connections and develop his skills. Bowen did Cross Country in Fall for the school and got the Rising Star Award as he earned a spot on the Varsity Team with the older boys. He played rec basketball with the other two boys and a bunch of friends from church. Bowen enjoys playing lacrosse and is wrapping up a Box Lacrosse season before spring lacrosse starts. He loves listening to books on audio, especially historical fiction stories, and he loves playing with his collection of Minifigure Lego guys. He has recently taken an interest in cooking and has learned how to make some delicious scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast.

Zeke is working hard in fifth grade, and loves being surrounded by his friends. He is happiest when he has a ball in his hand or at his feet and someone to pass to and play with. He played soccer with the school as well as his club team, he played on the rec basketball team with the other boys, and he has loved scoring lots of goals in futsal. He looks forward to spring soccer. He is trying to convince us to let him play flag football along with spring soccer.  He enjoys the challenge of all his classes, and really enjoys his teachers this year. He loves finding new books and checking them out from the library. He continues to have a great sense of humor and keeps us laughing, especially with his weird and unusual facts he learns.

Jared is serving as the Bishop of our ward and loves working with the youth. He is still working for Sierra Nevada Corporation. He hopes to find some free time to finish the yard projects that he has started.

Jill moved from Middle School Math to Second Grade this year. She loves being outdoors whenever she can and cheering for her boys in whatever sport they are currently playing. This year she enjoyed traveling with the family to Destin for Spring Break, time together in the mountains, a week in Hawaii with Jared and his parents, and going with Titan and JJ on an incredible trip to see David, Anne and Sarah in Spain, before exploring some of France and Switzerland.

Wishing you a great 2026!

At the end of the day on July 5th, the bus deposited us, according to GPS, to the closest way to the Hilton Hotel in Zurich. We had over a mile walk on gravel through farmlands to reach the hotel. We were to fly out of Zurich very early on July 6th. However, we learned at 5 AM on the way to airport that the flight had been canceled! Thus, we had an extra day there.

We explored Zurich, as a result of our extra, unplanned day in Switzerland. Bidding “Auf Wiedersehen” to Europe on our last evening there. July 6, 2025
