Happy Valentine’s Day - 2018
2017 was an eventful year!! It is always fun to look back and see all that took place in a year’s time!! As a family, Herbalife sent us on vacation to Disney World, Monica’s favorite!! We also spent time throughout the year in the mountains visiting Avon, Vail, Breckenridge, & Leadville.
Lauren, age 14, is a Freshman!! She is loving high school!! Lauren got to spend time with three of her best friends, Morgan, Skyler, and Kaylee, up in Grand Lake. Morgan joined us on our trip to Breckenridge in February and then Kaylee came up to The Christie Lodge with us for a week over the 4th of July. Lauren also had the privilege of attending two of her good friends Bat Mitzvahs. Lauren attended her first homecoming (Colorado Theme) with a large group of friends and had a fun ask from a nice young man named Jason. He gave her a box of doughnuts and when she opened the box it read, “I doughnut want to go to homecoming with anyone but you!” Lauren has continued gymnastics and still absolutely loves it! She competed on the high school team and continues to compete club gymnastics as well. She will be going to the daddy-daughter dance with Scott in February. They both look forward to this dance every year. Lauren attended both Young Life Camp and High Point Camp (Church Youth Group). Lauren is very active in the youth group at church and has also joined a group called Bible Biz. She still loves cooking and speaks French very well. She is in her 3rd year of French.
Parker, now 18, is in his Senior year of high school. He is an adult!! Cannot believe it!! Parker ended his job with Chick-Fil-A in January to try some new types of work. He worked at Pei Wei for a short time and did some dog walking and yard work. Parker, as well as the other kids, loved Disney World this summer and the highlight there was the Pandora Exhibit and the Avatar ride!! It was the coolest ride ever!! He got his wisdom teeth taken out over the summer and got his braces off at the beginning of the school year. He attended homecoming at his girlfriend’s school. Their homecoming was at a bowling alley and they had a blast!! Parker and his girlfriend, Honor, spend a lot of time together. They really enjoy the TV show called “The Office”. Parker’s favorite classes in school are Engineering, Aquatic Biology, and Guitar.
Austin is now 21!!! We celebrated his 21st Birthday at Jing, a beautiful Asian restaurant. Austin is home with us and continues to focus on working, saving money, and pursuing his passion for Acting & Modeling. Austin is a server at Ya Yas, where Scott was the General Manager for several years. He is working on recording an album in his free time which is super exciting! Just a few weeks ago, Austin was accidentally hit in the nose by a friend and it broke in 3 places, requiring surgery to fix it!! Austin had surgery for his broken nose on January 26th and he said that he has not been able to breathe this well in years!!
We are ever excited to support our kids in their growth into adulthood and encourage them in pursuing their passions and living a Christ-Centered life.
Monica is working her second year as a School Nurse Consultant. It continues to be a huge learning curve. She absolutely loves the hours and having summers and holidays off!! Together, Scott and Monica have taken on leading small groups in the high school ministry at church as well as becoming leaders in their section community. Scott and Monica also continue to work steadily with Herbalife and love the organization of people who enjoy healthy and positive mindset activities and lifestyles!!
Scott turned the big 40 this year!! Scott’s accident of the year occurred on my birthday, July 6th. He had a run in with the zipper on his rain coat while we were hiking Hanging Lake. He tore his retina and had to have an emergency surgery!! Scott has continued to help change people’s lives with Herbalife, Personal Development and support. He is also working with Synergy Fine Wines as their Chief Happiness Officer!! Such a needed positon in many businesses!! Scott continues to enjoy cycling and finished his 5th Leadville 100 race along with his brother David. He is now halfway to the 1,000-mile belt buckle.
We wish you much happiness, blessings and peace in 2018! God Bless you!
