Dear Friends,
As Fred and I are entering our later “Golden Years” (or maybe we have actually been there for years but are in denial!), we treasure each day as a gift…along with the gift of our family and friends. Thank you so much being a part of our lives.
Fred is still serving as the Building Representative and Coordinator at our church and enjoys working with the volunteers who help maintain the building. He continues to invest much time in making sure it is all in great condition. He also attends our Temple often, sometimes several times in a week. Though memory challenges still plague him, he manages to accomplish a lot!
Jan continues to work with students in academic tutoring and speech-language therapy, with eight of her students being children of former students. She is working more hours this year than the previous few years since Covid. She is working in the Nursery (perhaps her 40th year off and on) at church as well as with teaching Family History/genealogy…all of which she loves.
In August Scott rented a Tesla for us to drive to Idaho Falls for Jan’s 62nd (gulp!!) Reunion. It was a joy to see many “old” friends and to visit her childhood home and also where her parents are buried.
Following Idaho Falls, we drove to Utah to see the Farewell of Wayne and Claradene Stewart’s oldest granddaughter, Sophia, who is serving her mission in Ecuador. We spent wonderful reunion time with Claradene and Wayne, their daughters Tami and Laura and son Ryan and families.
The end of September David and Anne purchased our condo so we could remain in the same area where we lived for over 46 years. We are so grateful for the comfortable two bedroom, two bathroom condo with walk-in closets in a great location! We have three parks and walking areas very close to us.
In October Jan went to San Francisco Bay Area to be with her dear friend, Eve Dror, her children and their families. We always have such a fabulous time viewing flowers, hiking and visiting a Farmer’s Market as well as a trip into the city.
While Jan was in California, Fred joined Scott and Jill for several activities including a State track meet for Jacob and a hike near Chatfield Dam. Scott treated Fred to a fun restaurant.
We love to be with our children and grandchildren for holidays and other occasions, and especially love to have the youngest ones spend the night or go on museum or hiking adventures. At Christmas we baked peppermint ornaments, which will become a tradition.
We wish you a most healthy and happy 2024!
Love,
Fred and Jan
